Research-based evidence supports the use of teaching to the multiple ways that students learn and retain information. Improving a student’s vocabulary requires constant focus on exploring new words and patterns of language. If your still standing beside your dusty overhead projector with your weekly vocab words you need to come spend a day with outstanding teacher, Alana Morris. She will show you how to unplug the overhead and “plug in” to brain based learning strategies that engage students’ minds with the study and love of words. All grade level teachers will benefit from Alana’s unique and creative approach to word study.

| "My annual teacher observation happened to occur while I was teaching one of Alana's vocabulary lessons that I called "Vocabulary Charades" - not only did the students shine, but my administrator was very impressed with the student "charades" which demonstrated the difficult vocabulary word. Further, they were successful when tested to match word with definition as well as writing sentences using the words and adding definitions as context clues!"
