I
started revising and performing fairy tales ten years ago and
this cd/tape contains my greatest hits. Teachers of all grades
use them in conjunction with fractured fairy tale literature
to explore what fun can happen when you take a different point
of view. Some of the favorite songs among children are the
Three Little Pigs from Mr. Wolf, Cinderella after the divorce
from the Fairy God mother’s point of view, Jack and the
Beanstalk told from the Giant’s psychologist’s point of
view and the Frog Prince with a mid-life crisis.
REVIEW
"Recycled
Fairy Tales" features eight songs with guitar and
vocals by author Barry Lane. The liner notes include the
lyrics and are suitable for classroom use. Students can
listen and read along in order to appreciate Lane's clever
take on classic fairy tales. Most of Lane's fairy tale
stories are funny because they are a reversal of what one
expects. For instance, Cinderella gets her prince and finds
he isn't so charming, and the three little piggies turn
tables on the big bad wolf when they announce that they LOVE
tasty wolf treats. Lyrically, this CD is a lot of fun and
Lane's pleasant voice is easy to listen to. Well-suited to
grade levels 2-6.

Barry discovered these in France. They're a rubber-band-powered
butterfly. Wind them up, place them in a book, and when it's opened,
they fly up to the ceiling. A great bookmark, gift for a friend,
or reward for a student achievement. Also a great way to wake up the
7th period class.
Note we offer a 4-pack for $10.00. If you are interested in a quantity in excess of 100,
